Koit grew-up on the stories on how his mother freed the pack from the tyrant that was her uncle, and how it caused the pack to be divided into two. There were those within the pack whom didn't believe she had what it took to lead, and many--including those his mother cared for the most--choose to leave the pack instead of staying to watch it fall into ruin. This hurt his mother whom begun to wonder if perhaps they were right, and she sought comfort in the arms of the demon that would become her mate and the father of Koit and his twin sister Eliora. It might have been her mate's belief in her, or perhaps it was simply just motherhood that had his mother rising to the challenge of being alpha. There were no doubt within those whom remained within the pack that his mother had what it took to lead them.
This wasn't saying they thought it would be a piece of cake. They knew it wouldn't. They just thought she would continue to rise to whatever challenge came her way, and she certainly proved this was the case. She dealt with every problem with the confidence and assertiveness one would expect from an alpha--even if she was feeling anything but. When her mate disappeared she did not dwell upon it. Oh, there was no denying that his disappearance did not hurt her. Everyone knew that it did. One did not lose their mate in some form and not feel the sting, but she knew she as alpha she could not linger upon it. Her pack needed her. More than that, her children needed her, at least this is the reason Koit believes his mother did not get pulled into the depth of despair over her lost mate.
The disappearance of their father hurt them. It certainly hurt Koit whom had idealized his father--through memories of him are fading. He was his father's constant shadow. Wherever his father went he was there or whatever his father did he had to do it too. It was easy to see how his disappearance would upset him. Some part feared that his father had ran from them because he resented Koit and his sister. He realized how illogical it was. He knew his father loved him. Yet, in the back of his mind that fear lingers even today. Mostly he thought his father was injured or had swept away by some enemy. Whatever the reason, he decided he needed to find him. If he found him perhaps he could bring him home, or at the very least tell his mother where he was so she could rescue him.
It seemed perfectly logical, and his twin certainly agreed with his reasoning. Their mother, however, didn't share their opinion. Through, they never directly stated what they were doing, but she knew. They would wonder to far from the safety of their territory, and their mother would come and usher them home. There were times when Koit was annoyed by it. Why did she have to be such an overprotective hen, but he had come to learn it was protectiveness came out of a place of love. She had enemies whom would have leapt at the chance to harm her children as a means to hurt her. There was, also the fact she simply did not wish for them to be hurt. While he understood his mother's desire to keep them safe this did not mean he was contain to stay in a box.
He wanted to see the world--no the universe--as much as he wished to find his father. He and Eliora found their way into the Blue Moon Tavern where they encounter some of their relatives. His mother, of course, wasn't too far behind, but Koit was excited he had family he didn't know existed in some way and others he had only heard about. He wanted to get to know them and see how his relationship with them would form. He vowed to drop by the Blue moon again to see if he could encounter any of his relatives again, but for the foreseeable future that is a promise that will have to wait.

Present
He met a young woman from another world. He had heard many people from other worlds found their way onto Hellifyno all the time, but she was the first he encountered. However, she did not plan on staying on Hellifyno for long. It was only a stop on a very long journey and there was no guarantees that she would return. More than that, something told him that he needed to be out there. Perhaps. he would find answers to his father's whereabouts out in space. Or perhaps, his mate is waiting upon some other planet. It is possible that this young woman is his mate. He doesn't know what one feels when they find their mate. He had heard stories, but he sometimes wonder if he over-dramatized the entire thing. The only thing he knew was his destiny was among the stars.
That and this would be an adventure that he could not bring his twin sister upon. This thought sadden him. Eliora and he were rarely found apart. Where one went the other followed. Yet, he knew he could not find her and ask her to come with him. He knew that she would. She would leap at the chance to see what might be found within the deep reaches of space, but he knew if he took the time to find her that he risked his mother discovering what he intended. He did not know how his mother would take the news of him leaving. She might even try to stop him. He knows his mother will discover what he had done. She always does, but he figured it was better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

He went upon the young woman's ship and it didn't take them long to reach their first planet since leaving Helliyno. He knows that this is only one stops of many, but he cannot contain his excitement. There is many things to learn upon this world and many more to discover upon the countless others they might encounter. He has no idea what they might find, but the possibilities is almost overwhelming.
